“Basically, the Cleaners are an organization of Trash Beast Exterminators!”
Cleaners (掃除屋, Sōjiya) are a group in Gachiakuta. They’re made up of Givers who use their powers to exterminate Trash Beasts on the Ground but the main purpose of the organization is to solve the mysteries of the world.[1]
Overview[]
The Cleaners is an organization formed in the Ground. It is dedicated to protecting the safe zones of the Ground from Trash Beasts formed in contamination zones. The organization has about 100 members, and is led by Arkha Corvus.[2] The group is a public organization, and regularly receives calls from the inhabitants of the Ground requesting Cleaners to "clean up", which meant dispatching Trash Beasts who are nearby their zones, the Cleaners are acquaintances with the Hell Guard and are usually required to report to them in the case of any harm on civilians caused by a Trash Beast that they’ve taken responsibility for.[3]
The Cleaners have a secret goal however that’s only known to a small handful which is that the reason the organization was formed was to solve the mysteries of the world.[1]
Joining[]
To become a Cleaner as a Giver, the method that has been seen throughout the story so far is being scouted; the Giver has to be noteworthy enough to catch a current Captain's eye, and when in agreement, they must make their way to the Cleaner's HQ where the Giver then has to be screened by the Cleaners' receptionist, Semiu Grier, and then approved by the boss himself, Arkha Corvus. On the occasion the boss is not present, it's unknown what happens to the potential recruit, but in Rudo's case, he is taken on an "observational field trip" for he's now a "trainee". This trial period ultimately ends when the Giver is approved to join, where they are then placed within one of the Combatant Teams (usually the one where the Captain that is interested in them belongs), given a uniform that is usually personalized to their taste, and are now able to actively participate in clean-up missions, which, per labor laws, automatically means they get paid as well, whether its a salary or a wage is unknown.
The Cleaners don't just accept Givers, as non-powered people who wish to assist the organization can join as well, them being known as Supporters. Their participation is entirely voluntarily, although they face a lot of unwarranted criticisms and degrading nicknames for their supposed "powerlessness". Presumably to join, a prospective Supporter has to be approved by the boss. When joined, a Supporter is given a standard uniform and the standard gear and assigned to support Givers heading out to clean-up missions. It's presumed they get paid as well.
Locations[]
Headquarters[]
- Main article: Cleaners Headquarters
The Cleaners base is the Cleaners Headquarters, a large building which is heavily guarded by givers.[4] The building has many rooms which the Cleaners are all allowed to use, such as resting rooms, a bar, a library and a medical ward, The building has a little over 5 floors, and ample space to be used. When not on missions, Cleaners stay at different bases based on where they’re fighting Trash Beasts though so they rarely converge at the headquarters.[5]
Southern Branch[]
The Cleaners Southern Branch is located in the South ward in the city Creapye, they preside over and exterminate the Trash Beasts in the South ward, the No Man’s Land, Tori is under their jurisdiction.

History[]
It is unknown when the organization was formed, but since it was established, the groups' influence over the Ground has grown massively. Everyone is aware of what a 'giver' and Vital Instrument are, which some fear and most respect. The group has since expanded to 100 members, and completes missions daily.
Uniform[]
The Cleaners uniform is grey and black. Often the Cleaners logo will be placed on the left side of the uniform, sometimes in the form of badges, other times sewn on. All Cleaners have armbands on both sleeves. The uniform often has two black patches of fabric from the waist to the upper chest, with a zipper parting down the middle. On the back is an enlarged Cleaners logo. Givers get personalised uniforms while Supporters all wear the same uniform. All uniforms are crated by August Stilza.
Givers Uniform[]
All givers are provided a personalised uniform, with often the only thing matching with each other being a grey coat with armbands.
Supporters Uniform[]
All supporters wear the same uniform. This consists of a similar design to the main uniform, but with tints of grey alongside black and white. They don't have the coats that Givers do, but rather vest like shirts similar in design. They all wear the same cap with an emblem on the right side of it. All supporters wear gloves as they often touch Trash Beasts. They have belts with bags around their waist for carrying tools, and their janitor bag is on their backs.
Chokers[]
- Main article: Chokers
All Cleaners are provided with a communication device in the form of chokers. Traditionally, these are worn around the neck, however, some Cleaners such as Zanka wear it around their wrists. These chokers have a wide range, but areas such as the underground render them useless.
Cleaner Bags[]
All Cleaners are provided with with large bags with rounded tubes attached. These are likely used to help the janitors breath in contaminated and forbidden zones. These bags can come in different shapes and sizes.
Groups[]
Within the Cleaners organization, the 100 members are split into three groups: combatants, guards and supporters.
Combatants[]
The combatant group is comprised of the Givers within the organization. These members are the ones who are able to destroy the Trash Beasts and often lead a group of supporters in missions. Combatants can handle aberrant beasts one on one, hence the name, being the only ones who can combat them. The combatants are split into three known teams currently, that being Akuta (アクタ, Akuta), led by Enjin, Eager (イーガー, Īgā), and Child (チャイルド, Chairudo), led by Bro Santa.[6]
Akuta Members[]
- Enjin (Leader)
- Zanka Nijiku
- Riyo
- Rudo Surebrec
Eager Members[]
Child Members[]
- Bro Santa (Leader)
- Dear Santa
- Guita Hebby Fantasia
- Others
Sentinels[]
Very little is known about the guard group, however their name implies they stay and protect areas rather than actively seek out Trash Beasts in missions.
Supporters[]
The supporter group is comprised of ordinary humans who volunteer their skills, whether it be strength or handling of weapons, to support the givers in battle. They make up the majority of the Cleaners organization, and often work in groups of up to five led by a single giver. Typically, five supporters would be put on a mission, unless it's to the forbidden zone.
