— Fu Orostor, Chapter 86

Fu Orostor (フウ・オロストル, Fū Orosutoru) is a supporting antagonist turned ally in Gachiakuta. He’s a former rookie member of the Raiders and currently affiliated with the Cleaners.

Appearance[]

Fu is a short teenager with unkempt blond hair with salmon pink roots and green eyes under a black mask. His outfit consists of the standard Raider's uniform, where his neck is covered by a two-toned purple scarf that can be opened by a zipper, over a large, thick sweater with elbow-length purple sleeves, with the shoulder and sleeve areas made of the same quilt-like pattern seen in the other Raiders. His forearms are covered by skin-tight long sleeves for full coverage.

Around his waist is a sash holding one of the purple lanterns signifying his allegiance to the Raiders, securing plain baggy trousers. He wears sneakers for footwear.

Personality[]

Fu Orostor is a timid, cowardly individual and is evidently inexperienced in combat not knowing how to start fights, where he straight up asks Enjin if he could let him beat him. He also takes what Zodyl's thinks of him very seriously, fearing what will happen to him if he doesn’t follow orders.

Fu's dependence on being given orders stemmed from his fear of taking responsibility for his actions, where he rationalized that if he did something based on the orders of someone, it meant the blame would fall on them, not on him, who is used as a tool and therefore not liable for the consequences the actions he did.

Synopsis[]

History[]

Little is currently known about Fu’s past but he joined the Raiders at an unknown point of time in the past.

Plot[]

Trash Storm Arc[]

In accordance with Zodyl’s plan, after warping the janitors inside of an aberrant beast and separating them via a trash stream, Cthoni creates manholes to warp Jabber, Noerde, Bundus and Fu to eliminate and turn the janitors to offerings for the aberrant beast. Fu is sent to fight Enjin.[4]

Fu meets Enjin

Enjin attempts to provoke Fu

Fu initially acts very timid hiding behind a closet while Enjin tries to provoke him, Fu thinks to himself how cool Enjin is.[5] a little while later the sound of a gunshot from Riyo’s attack on Jabber echoes throughout the inside of the aberrant beast, promoting Fu to become anxious fearing that he’ll be the last fearing what will happen to him. Lamenting that he doesn’t know how to start a fight, he introduces himself to Enjin and explains his goal to and asks if he would let him beat him which Enjin promptly declines.[6]

Enjin walks away

The ground starts shaking soon after, Enjin asks if it’s Zodyl that’s doing this which Fu confirms, the ground eventually stops shaking but Enjin walks away, Fu frantically begs him to stop but Enjin only replies saying he doesn’t feel like fighting at all but to help his friends, Fu tries to convince him to stay revealing that they’re inside of an aberrant beast to Enjin’s suprise.[7]

Enjin then tricks Fu into revealing info about the place they’re in promising that he’d fight him if he did so only to ignore him and look for the other janitors instead. Fu follows after him begging him to fight to no avail, the two eventually come across Bundus, Brot and Dia, after Bundus asks why he still hadn’t defeated his opponent yet, Fu explains the situation only to Bundus’s disappointment.[8]

Fu speaks with Hii

Hii asks Fu to switch with him

Later after the Cleaners and Bundus leave, Fu begins to cry for getting left and being flawed. He gets devastated at the thought of being pathetic compared to Bundus and Noerde, saying that he misses the light from Kutohni’s manholes. A voice then calls out saying Fu disgusts him stating he can’t do anything without him. Fu recognizes the voice as “Hii”, Fu’s doll he carries around with him, and excitedly calls out his name, Hii then tells Fu to switch places with him saying if he’s been left behind then they’ll get out of the Trash beast themselves to which Fu happily agrees.[9]

Heritage Mural arc[]

He was later abandoned by the raiders due to his failure when fighting Enjin. Hii directed him to join the cleaners, hoping to work under Enjin. Fu originally followed Rudo’s group on their way to Canvas Town, but was intimidated by Rudo so Hii scolds him and says they can’t be worse than the Raiders.[10]

Fu makes contact with the Cleaners

Fu makes contact with the Cleaners

After the Cleaners arrive in Canvas town, they discuss about the disappearance of Amo and speculate how the Raiders got her boots. Fu walks up to the Cleaners and says that it was Jabber who had took them which the Cleaners get startled by and get hostile asking why he’s here. Remlin points out that people with ill intent can’t enter Canvas Town due to Macaca Icol’s charm on the town. Fu agrees and bows to Enjin asking to become his “minion” but Enjin refuses so Fu explains that he left the Raider but Enjin doesn’t change his mind. He then brings up the topic before and recalls a conversation he had with Jabber who said that he took Amo’s boots without a fight. Rudo says that if her choker worked, they could contact Amo. Fu explains that Zodyl speculated that the chokers' creator has a part of the Watchman series.

Enjin says that he still doesn’t trust Fu since it isn’t normal that he gave out so much information, Fu gives more info that Zodyl’s plan with the flying Trash beast was to determine whether the creator of the choker haz a watchman series item and says it’s the truth before asking Enjin again to make him his minion, Enjin this time reluctantly agrees for the sake of clearing things up and says they’ll go to the information broker to ask about it.[11]

Fu later walks in on Rudo asking Enjin if he’ll help collect the watchman series and find Amo, Enjin accepts and Fu says that Rudo is lucky. Rudo is taken aback and questions why he’s still here, Fu responds that it’s a minions job to follow his master to the ends of the earth. Enjin then asks if he wants to join the cleaners to which Fu affirms but Enjin says that he’ll have to earn their trust first, much to Fu’s dismay.[12]

Information Broker Arc[]

Fu sees Zodyl

Fu sees Zodyl as the Raiders pull up next to the Cleaners car

Fu with the cleaners travel to a city near Tori in order to meet up with the information broker, Kuro, to ask him about the location of the creator of the chokers. For payment, Kuro asks to play a game of tag where if the cleaners catch him he’ll give them the info.[13] Kuro begins to head to Tori on a carriage pulled by ground horses. As the cleaners go after him by car, they notice a horde of Trash Beasts which scares Fu.[14]

After Enjin, Rudo, and Riyo begin taking out the trash beasts, Fu, who is inside the car talks to his doll “Hii” and says that he liked the raiders but the cleaners are cool too. Just then, on an intersecting road on the highway, the Raiders pull up next to the cleaners car, the group consisting of Zodyl, Jabber, Cthoni and Momoa, who’s the one driving. Jabber says “Hi there!” to the people on the car and upon realizing it’s the Cleaners, he gets excited at the idea of battling them over who gets Kuro. Zodyl looks at Fu with an intimidating look. Jabber asks Fu if he switched sides but then says it’s alright, excited at being able to fight him as well. Fu yells for help in response.[15] Enjin asks Fu in an intimidating tone if he knew the Raiders were coming but Fu frantically denies it saying that he only knew that Zodyl was after the creator of the chokers and that he had no idea he would go after the information broker. Zodyl in the other car says he sees now, as Fu begins to tremble in fear, Zodyl says that he thought cutting Fu off would make him learn autonomy but realizes that the only thing he learned was to run his mouth in self defense.

Zodyl tells the two to throw Fu to the trash beasts along with the Cleaners. after Rudo, Riyo, and Enjin start fight Jabber, Gris gives Fu a mask and tells him to wear it if he doesn't have one to protect him from the pollution, Gris then asks if the raiders are after the information broker because they want to find the creator of the chokers to which Fu replies saying that he thinks so. Gris says that they have to stop them in that case as if the creator of the chokers is a giver then they could use their vital instrument to make another giant trash beast. Fu then says he doesn't think they can stop the Raiders to Gris and Follo's confusion. He then tells them to look at who's driving the Raiders car. Kuro also puts on his mask and looks back to see that the Raider's car is behind him before they suddenly pull up right next to him. Momoa reaches out her hand towards Kuro as Fu explains that her vital instrument allows her to "hear all of your memories" if she touches you. Fu then says that if the Cleaners want to talk to the information broker, they'll have to hurry as once Zodyl gets all of Kuro's memories, he'll probably kill him.[16]

After more Trash Beasts start appearing, Gris asks Fu if he’ll help them, he admits he’d rather not ask a former Raider but says they’re just supporters and can’t beat Trash Beasts and asks him to lend them a hand, as the car is approaching the tunnel, Fu climbs up and punches a hole through the roof of the car which surprise Jabber and Riyo, Fu says that now that they've been given orders they have to step it up, Fu's doll Hii says it's his turn and that there no holding back, before Fu gets into position and says that "it's Hii time".[17]

Hii breaks Jabber’s arm

Hii breaks Jabber’s arm

Fu has an inner monologue about how he no longer wants to take responsibility and that’s why he only follows others orders so that he’s not responsible and doesn’t get hurt, Jabber while grinning asks Fu if he’s ready to throw down, Hii tells him to try again and corrects him saying that he’s not Fu but “The cursed doll Hii”, Enjin and Riyo look at him confused, Jabber says that he remembers and explains that Fu’s ability is to let the cursed doll take over his body, Jabber then questions if that’s the story he tells people, Hii tells him to try again and corrects him saying that it’s not a story but a pact, when Fu doesn’t have anyone to give orders and he needs to bust something up his body becomes Hii’s, Gris and Follo stare in confusion, Hii continues, explaining to Jabber that they got their orders from the Cleaners and that from now on he and Fu will be giving a hand to their enemies, Jabber tries to attack but Hii breaks his arm to Jabbers suprise, he then starts screaming because of the pain, Enjin asks what happened and Riyo replies saying that Fu is bad news and continues saying that he’s not a scrawny wimp at all and that it’s like his entire body is a weapon but takes it back and instead says that it’s as though his very flesh is now a vital instrument, Hii leaps at Jabber making him crash into the ceiling to Jabber’s joy, he then slams him on the ground, destroying the road and the Trash Beasts along with it, Jabber who’s on the ground quietly says “cheers to treachery” and that he always knew Fu was hella tough.[18]

Hii looks down at Jabber who's made a ring with his finger and put it over his eye, he explains that “pure strength” is his favorite thing in the world but the one “strength” that has people at it's mercy doesn't even fit the concept of strength, Hii turns around to see that Cthoni has created a Manhole the size of the tunnel, Cthoni them releases a horde of Trash Beasts, suddenly Rudo who's riding a Trash Beast leaps out of the manhole to Cthoni's surprise, Enjin asks why he came out of the manhole, Rudo says that he was getting trampled by the Trash Beasts and decided to jump in after seeing Cthoni's manhole figuring that it would either take him to the Raiders or them, he then uses his brush pen to create a giant drawing of Remlin which launches the Cleaners to Tori,[19] Fu who's reverted back realizes that he's gotten left behind once again along with Jabber and Cthoni.[20]
