The Watchman Series (番人シリーズ Bannin Shirīzu) are a series of Vital Instruments. They are some of the oldest in the world and hold an unlimited supply of Thought.
Overview[]
The Watchman Series contain an unlimited amount of thought which makes them incredibly powerful. They have existed as far back as six generations ago. Zodyl speculates that the Watchman Series originally belonged to and were worn by a single human,[1] which is later confirmed by Kuro.[2]
Only people who have lost a part of themselves that make up a person can utilize the Watchman Series, mainly people who have suffered through great tragedies, if a sane person attempts to use the Watchman Series they will be driven to insanity due to the thought’s contained in the Watchman Series generating anima powerful enough to permeate their being,[1] Follo who experienced the sensation described it as the feeling of his mind being “eaten away at” when he temporarily used 3R.[3]
Appearance[]
Gloves, Boots and Coat
The Watchman Series are all grey items of clothing, typically incredibly thick fabric. They have patches of black found on them, and are often held together by belts, which all meet at a metal ring covering the Watchman Series logo, which is a set of two rings, the inner one branded by 3 circles, and the outer one by three triangles. Unlike other Vital Instruments, the Watchman Series doesn't change appearance when activated, and instead sees itself surrounded by a black aura.

| Gloves: By making contact with an object that was previously used or discarded the user is capable of turning it into a vital Instrument, they can power three Vital instruments at a time or focus his power into only one item, increasing its power significantly by either x2 or x3,[4] each item he uses crumbles away afterwards having served their purpose.[5] |

| Boots: The user can produce scents of someone who the target was close to, placing them in an illusion by making them mistake the user as somebody that is the object of their affection.[6] |

| Coat: Once active, it causes the user’s body to mutate based on what they eat, allowing them to create and control spiky appendages or grow wings to fly.[7] |

| Book: A book bearing the symbol of the Watchman Series, it originally belonged to Regto but was stolen by the Angel, it seems to have the power to alter memories.[8] |

| Unknown: it’s speculated that the creator of the Chokers possesses a part of the Watchman Series.[9] |

- The powers of the five Watchman Series Vital Instruments could be based on the five senses.
- 3R = Touch, Rudo can turn objects to Vital Instrument’s by contact.
- Boots = Smell, Amo can manipulate people’s senses using smells.
- Mishra = Taste, Zodyl can mutate his body based on what he eats.
- Book = Sight, Tamsy prevented Amo from identifying him.
- Unknown = Hearing, was used to create the choker’s for communication.
- It is possible that there are other Vital Instrument Series other than the Watchman Series as there were three other symbols on Macaca Icol’s Heritage Mural alongside it’s symbol.[10]
- Tamsy has alluded that the real name of the Vital Instruments might be something other than the “Watchman Series.”[11]
